Dr. Patrick M. Martin serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the community of Trussville.  He holds a Doctorate of Philosophy, Chief School Business Official Endorsement, Educational Specialist, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from Illinois State University.  Dr. Martin arrived in Trussville after serving as the Assistant Superintendent/Chief Operations Officer for the Vestavia Hills City School System, a position that he held for five years.  Prior to his time at Vestavia, Dr. Martin held Central Office positions in the communities of Gardendale, Alabama, Washington, Illinois, and Mason City, Illinois.  Overall, Dr. Martin has served in the capacity of Superintendent of Schools for eleven years and has been in education for twenty four years.

Dr. Martin is married to Taren Martin, current Associate Head Women’s Basketball Coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  They have four children, all students of the Trussville City School System.  Dr. Martin is a graduate of the Leadership Trussville Class of 2024.
