Dr. Kristi Bradford currently serves as the Executive Director at Better Basics, a grassroots literacy nonprofit located in Birmingham and serving the Central Alabama area. Beginning in 1998, her 18-year career in Trussville began as a gifted teacher at Hewitt Elementary and concluded as an administrator at Paine Intermediate. Throughout her career, she played an integral part in the transition to Trussville City Schools and the expansion from one elementary campus (Paine) to three strong elementary schools.
Kristi and her husband reside in Trussville and their children are all graduates of Hewitt Trussville High School. A faithful member of Trussville First Baptist, Kristi serves as a member of the media team and has served in missions to Thailand in the capacity of a teacher of English. Current leadership activities include chairperson for the Summer Learning Committee of Governor Ivey’s Grade-Level Reading Campaign; president-elect, Trussville Daybreak Rotary Club; Birmingham Business Journal’s Who’s Who in Nonprofits, March 2021; member, United Way of Central Alabama’s Bold Goals Initiative; manager, The World Games, Community-wide Read Aloud event in Bessemer.
