Brandi Vines is the CEO and co-founder of Gridco, Inc, a utility infrastructure company specializing in power distribution construction and maintenance. Prior to starting Gridco, Brandi worked at Alabama Power Company for over 20 years where she held various leadership positions in Power Delivery and Marketing. She spent most of her career working with engineers and line crews. She is passionate about workforce development and has been intimately involved with various programs to support such efforts including co-op and intern mentoring, engineering and line worker recruiting, and fiber construction training.
Brandi served on numerous committees within Alabama Power related to cost containment, engineering best practices, specifications, and engineering education for students. She chaired and co-founded the Power Run and served as the chair for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Golf Tournament. Brandi created the Alabama Power Distribution and Transmission Engineer-in-Training Manual for newly hired engineers and created the first standards for Fiber to Distribution at Alabama Power. She served as secretary for The Association of Edison Illuminating Companies and as the Advisor for LEAP (Line workers, Engineers, and Apprentice Programs). Brandi volunteers with the iCan girls in engineering program and in 2022, she founded the Alabama Power Women in Power Delivery Program, a mentoring and cross-functional endeavor designed to empower career development and personal growth opportunities for women.
Brandi graduated from Clay-Chalkville High School in 1998 and earned her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UAB in 2002. She and her husband, Brad, live in Trussville with their daughter, Cameron, and son, Hudson. They are members of North Clay Baptist Church where they volunteer with the youth. Brandi’s hobbies include water skiing, wake surfing, scuba diving, and spending time with family.
